AccuStaltic Multiple channel metering pumps

Accu-Staltic™ Fixed speed & Variable Speed Pump Systems with Electric Motors

Accustaltic multichannel Pump with Varispeed drive

Ledebuhr Industries offers a choice of washdown and stainless steel AC electric motors coupled to washdown grade gearboxes, in ratios to suit most application needs.

For situations where your needs will change or you do not find the speed you want, choose a 3 phase motor and add a variable speed drive for more adjustability.

Below is a brief tutorial to help you choose the perfect pump and motor combination.

a list of support files is found at the bottom of the page.

First, Choose Your Desired pump speed:

There are two motor speeds and 5 gearbox ratios that determine the fixed speeds available. Adding a Variable speed drive gives you a wider range and the ability to finely adjust the flow. the flow of the Pump will be determined as a combination of the pump speed and the tubing size. To determine what flow rate you will get, visit the Pump Performance Page.

Choice of gearbox will determine the speed range of the pump, as defined by the table below. All variable speed ranges assume continuous duty.

Gearbox Ratio Fixed speed with 1725 RPM motor

Fixed speed with 3450 RPM motor

Variable speed range* (assuming 1725 RPM base speed Motor)
50:1 34.5 69 5-50 RPM
20:1 86.25 172.5 25-125 RPM
10:1 172.5 345 50-250
7.5:1 230 460** 65-350
5:1 345 NR 100-450**

Notes

*Variable speed range is approximate and will vary some based on the motor/gearbox chosen in relation to the torque requirement of the pump. In Variable-speed applications, motors are generally oversized to maintain output torque at low speeds and still be able to dissipate the normal heat generated by the operation of the motor. It is generally a good rule of thumb that the motor will not be able to cool itself adequately

** The maximum speed of this combination is limited by the maximum contimuous pump speed @ 450 RPM.

Higher and lower speeds may be possible in Intermittent operation, depending on the pump and tubing chosen.

matching required pump torque to the motor/gearbox combination:

To determine how much torque your pump will need, you can procede two ways:

  1. consult the FAQ page on Required Pump Torque, then consult the table following this list, or
  2. Realize that there is not much difference in the cost of the motors (which you learned on the option codes page) and choose the largest one you can to be safe. Since motors only draw the electricity needed to turn, sourcing a larger motor will result in no difference in operating expense.

The following table shows real output torques in inch-pounds from the motor/gearbox combinations we offer. These account for gearbox mechanical efficiencies, and are based on the full-load rating of the motor.

  • Motor/gearbox combinations in RED should not be chosen as they provide inadeqate torque for the majority of pump configurations.
  • Motor/gearbox combinations in BLACK will be adequate for most 4, 5 or 6 channel applications, and some 8 channel divided rotor applications with 1/4" or smaller tubing.
  • Motor/gearbox combinations in GREEN will be adequate for all applications and conditions.

variable speed drives:

If you want Variable Speed, we are now proud to offer the KB brand KBDA series variable speed drives. They offer a mountain of features in a small package:

  • 110V or 220V input flexibility in the same drive, 50 or 60 Hertz input for world compatibility. 220V 3 phase output.
  • readout in Pump RPM's OR flow rate. Flow rate can be per channel or per pump!
  • NEMA 4X enclosure.
  • easy to read controls and speed rheostat dial for simple operation.
  • Made in the USA quality.
  • Optional IODA board easily added for full input/output control capability.

To specify and choose the exact pump you need, see the Purchase Pumps pages.
